Fishers United Methodist Church is the epitome of stability. Founded in 1874, she has faithfully served this community for more than 125 years. The originating congregation consisted of 14 members. They met at the then local school house until 1875 when their first building was constructed on 116th Street west of what is now Interstate I-69.
On February 26, 1905 their next church building was dedicated. This building located on Lantern Road (across from the Fishers Elementary School) served the congregation well for 57 years. It still stands in the same place today, now home for the people of The Christian Life Center. On Christmas Sunday, December 23, 1962, Fishers United Methodists met for the first time in their new church home one block east of what is now I-69 and Indiana State Road 37 on East 116th Street. Numerous additions and improvements have taken place in this building as the congregation has grown.
