How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I started working as a grunt for a construction company in Denver, CO directly out of High School. Although the grunt at the time, I loved the work.
At the age of 20, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy and when I returned, was offered a job in telecommunications, but my heart was always with construction.
In 1993, I left my employer and started Celebrity Custom Homes and haven't looked back. I truly love this business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Relationship Building.
I've worked for so many years with repeat clients that I've seen their children grow up. I actually feel like a part of their families.
The detailed craftmanship and level of service I provide seems difficult to find these days. I'm a hands on contractor and my clients have called me to work for them for so many years that I'm now providing services on their 2nd and 3rd homes.
I've always been told that my communication is impeccable, as clients rarely call and don't get me immediately any time of the day.
Most of my crew has worked for me for over 14 years, I have a very skilled and tight knit team which can be a huge benefit on a home project.
In addition, my project estimates and timing is 99% perfect. I can't even recall the last project that went over my projected time or budget to complete.
Fully Licensed, Bonded, and Insured. Always have been, always will be.
Unfortunately, many contractors are letting their coverages lapse because of the recession. I encourage homeowners to confirm this with any contractor they hire.
I would imagine that for these reasons is why I'm almost entirely a referral only business. Referrals always available.
