Helping low-income parents increase their skills through job training and other postsecondary education pays off in the labor market, and also helps break the cycle of poverty within families. With poverty and joblessness on the rise, Training, Inc.’s role in our community is more important than ever. And job training works. According to the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) research, “…training can increase low-skilled workers’ earnings exponentially, putting their families on the road to self-sufficiency and helping to reduce welfare dependency.” In fact, last year Training, Inc. graduates demonstrated an overall average earnings increase of 97% after completing our program. All Training, Inc. graduates get job-specific training in business support, and they earn five college credits toward their college education. They are with us for a hand up so they can become self-sufficient, tax paying citizens in our community.
